FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, AKURE (FUTA) ADVERTISEMENT FOR ADMISSION INTO NEWLY APPROVED PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its newly approved undergraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. The University, renowned for its commitment to excellence in science, technology, and innovation, continues to expand its academic frontiers in response to national needs and global advancements in knowledge.

In line with its vision of producing skilled and competent graduates capable of driving technological and socio-economic development, FUTA has secured approval for the establishment of new academic programmes in strategic and emerging fields. These include programmes in the School of Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS), School of Logistics and Innovation Technology (SLIT), and School of Environmental Technology (SET). The newly introduced courses have been carefully designed to meet international academic standards while addressing specific manpower gaps within Nigeria’s economy and the global workforce.

1. SCHOOL OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES (SBMS)

Programme: Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc)

The Bachelor of Nursing Science degree is designed to train competent, professional nurses who will contribute to the promotion, restoration, and maintenance of health in individuals, families, and communities. The programme combines scientific knowledge with practical nursing skills and leadership principles to prepare students for dynamic roles in clinical practice, research, and healthcare administration.

UTME Admission Requirements:
Candidates seeking admission into the B.NSc programme must have a minimum score of 300 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The required UTME subject combination is English Language, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

2. SCHOOL OF LOGISTICS AND INNOVATION TECHNOLOGY (SLIT)

Programmes:

  • B.Tech. Procurement Management Technology
  • B.Tech. Financial Technology

The School of Logistics and Innovation Technology is one of the latest additions to FUTA’s forward looking academic structure. It focuses on the intersection of technology, business, and logistics areas that are increasingly shaping the modern economy.

The B.Tech. Procurement Management Technology programme aims to produce graduates with the technical and managerial expertise needed to plan, execute, and oversee procurement and supply chain operations effectively.

The B.Tech. Financial Technology (FinTech) programme, on the other hand, blends computer science, finance, and innovation to prepare students for roles in digital banking, blockchain, financial data analysis, and other technology-driven financial services.

UTME Admission Requirements:
Applicants seeking admission into either of these two programmes must have a minimum score of 180 in the 2025 UTME.
The approved subject combination is English Language, Mathematics, and any two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Food and Nutrition, Geography, Economics, Government, or Accounting.

3. SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY (SET)

Programme: B.Tech. Environmental Management Technology

The B.Tech. in Environmental Management Technology is designed to equip students with practical knowledge and technical skills for managing environmental resources sustainably. It focuses on issues such as environmental pollution, waste management, sustainable urban development, and the application of modern technology in environmental monitoring and conservation.

UTME Admission Requirements:
Candidates applying for this programme must have a minimum UTME score of 180.
The required subject combination is English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Geography.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

All interested candidates who chose the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) as their first choice institution are eligible to apply. Candidates who initially selected other institutions may also apply, provided they first change their institution of choice to FUTA through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal.

After confirming their eligibility, applicants are to visit the FUTA admission portal to complete the online screening form. A non-refundable screening fee of Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000.00) only is to be paid via the Remita platform at any commercial bank in Nigeria. Applicants are strongly advised to provide accurate personal and academic information during registration, as any false entry will lead to automatic disqualification.

  • Online Registration Opens: Monday, 20th October 2025
  • Online Registration Closes: Wednesday, 22nd October 2025

Applicants are encouraged to complete their registration early to avoid last-minute network delays. All candidates are also advised to regularly check the University’s official website and communication channels for updates regarding the screening process and other admission-related announcements.
